Rebirth
The continuation of existence after death, without a permanent self, shaped by karma.
Karma
Actions (especially intention) create consequences that influence future rebirths.
Dharma
The teachings of the Buddha that guide individuals to overcome suffering and attain enlightenment.
Nirvana
The extinguishing of craving, attachment and ignorance, the causes of suffering. A person who reaches nirvana is free from dukkha and is no longer born into samsara.
Samsara
The ongoing cycle of birth, death, and rebirth characterised by suffering (dukkha)
Karmic consequences
The result of karma that shape present experiences and future rebirths.
Anatta
No fixed self. The belief that there is no permanent, unchanging soul or self.
