Chop
To cut food into small pieces.
Grate
To shred or cut food into small pieces using a grater, such as grating cheese over pasta.
Boil
To heat water or liquid until it becomes very hot and bubbles.
Roll
To flatten or shape dough using an instrument like a rolling pin.
Whisk
To mix or beat ingredients, such as eggs in a bowl, rapidly using a whisk.
Peel
To remove the outer skin from a fruit or vegetable, such as a banana.
Fry
To cook food, such as pancakes, in a hot pan.
Bake
To cook food in an oven, such as a cake or pizza.
Stir
To mix ingredients or soup slowly with a tool while it cooks.
Melt
To turn a solid ingredient like butter into a liquid through heat.
Flip
To turn food over to cook the other side, such as a pancake when one side is brown.
Pour
To cause a liquid or powdery ingredient like flour to flow into a bowl or container.
