French and Indian war

French had land near center and British had coastal land, there was boarder problems so war began in 1754 and ended in 1763, Natives sided with French.

Taxes

British government in debt from F&I war so they begin to tax colonies on paper products, tea, and delivery.

Thomas Jefferson

Chosen to write the first draft of the Declaration of Independence.
