Nucleus

Contains DNA and controls activities of the cell.

Cytoplasm

Liquid gel where chemical reactions occur.

Cell membrane

Controls what enters and leaves the cell.

Mitochondria

Where aerobic respiration occurs.

Ribosomes

Where protein synthesis takes place.

Vacuole

Contains cell sap (water, sugar and mineral ions). This is important for keeping cells rigid to support plant.

Cell Wall

Made from cellulose. Provides strength and support to the cell. (eg.bursting)

Chloroplasts

Where photosynthesis takes place. Contain chlorophyll pigment, which absorbs light and give the plant a green colour.
