3 and 4 bodies- trapezoidal, posterior taller than anterior border
from time of eruption of temp teeth to 2 yrs before peak of craniofacial skeletal growth
cervical stage 2
visible notch on bottom edge of c2
3 and 4 still flat bottom and trapezoidal
peak time of mandible growth occurs within a year after thos stage
cervical stage 3
visible notch on bottom edge of c2 and 3
most of c3 and 4 bodies trapezoidal but sometimes more rectangular horizontal shape
mac craniofacial growth velocity anticipated
cervical stage 4
all 3 bodies have concavities on bottom edge
c3 and 4 horizontal bodies
continued accelerated craniofacial growth
cervical stage 5
at least c3 or 4 body is square
all have notches
most substantial craniofacial growth has been achieved
cervical stage 6
at least c3 or 4 body is rectangular vertical
can evaluate patient for corrective jaw surgery
