Solar Eclipse

DEFINITION

When the moon gets between Earth and the sun, and the moon casts a shadow over Earth. This can only occur when the moon is in the New Moon phase, but does NOT happen every New Moon. You do NOT want to look directly at a solar eclipse! They make special glasses to view one. The next solar eclipse for North America will be in 2024.
