Excel Workbook
A file that contains one or more worksheets, saved with an .xlsx extension.
Cell Address
The unique identifier for a cell, based on its column and row position (e.g., A1).
Label
Text entered in a cell that is left-aligned and not used in calculations.
Value
A number entered in a cell that is right-aligned and used in calculations.
Formula
A calculation that is performed on a cell's data, usually beginning with an equals sign (=).
Fill Handle
A feature that allows users to copy data or create a series by dragging the small square at the bottom-right corner of a selected cell.
AutoSum
A command in Excel that automatically inserts the SUM function into a selected cell.
Function
A built-in formula in Excel that performs calculations and returns a value.
Cell Range
A selection of two or more cells in Excel identified by the first and last cell (e.g., B1:B5).
Format Painter
A tool in Excel that allows users to copy formatting from one cell to another.
Cell Style
A preset combination of font face, size, alignment, and color based on a workbook's theme.
Theme
A set of design elements, including colors and fonts, applied to a workbook for consistent formatting.
AutoFit
A feature that adjusts a column's width or a row's height to fit its contents.
Freeze Panes
A command that keeps specific rows or columns visible when scrolling through a large worksheet.
Page Layout
A view in Excel that allows users to format worksheets for printing, including headers and footers.
Document Properties
Metadata associated with a file, including information such as title, author, and creation date.
Ctrl+F6
A keyboard shortcut to switch between open workbooks in Excel.
