Client goals
1. The desired objectives the client has for their business. The designer is in charge of drafting up visual strategies to fulfill the client’s outcomes. They must interact w/ the client and their business.
Target audience
An established group of people more likely to be attracted to the visual design of a product. Includes the demographics of the selected consumers (age, gender, martial status, etc.) and psychographics (Their beliefs and values.)

A population’s characteristics regarding age, race, and gender.

Intellectual property –
1. Refers to intangibles such as ideas, music, art, photos, logos, movies, and programs that are the result of creativity and intellectual effort.
Licensing
a clear way to define copyright of your creative work so people know how it can be used
Derivative work
A creative work that either has its roots or is created or developed in another original piece through adaptation, translation, or sequel.
Attribution
Crediting a creative work or remark to a particular Author, artist, or person, usually with a citation.
Fair use
the ability to use a small amount of copyrighted work without permission, but only in certain ways and in specific situations. someone other than the copyright owner may make limited use of a copyrighted work without permission for certain purposes such as teaching, research, scholarship, etc.
Accessibility
How many people can utilize the interface. Involves designing to accommodate people with different disabilities.
Creative commons –
A kind of copyright that makes it easier for people to copy, share, and build on a creative work, as long as they give you credit for it.
Copyright
1. Exclusive right to the creator of the original work to authorize its use, reproduction, and distribution. People must get your permission before they copy, share, or perform your work.
Mashup
– The combination and remixing of pre-existing media from more than one source.
Piracy
The act of illegally reproducing copyrighted material. Stealing copyrighted work without permission.
Plagiarize
The act of passing off preexisting work as one’s own. making some changes and saying YOU created it.
Citation
Key information about a source used for a report or other research project, including its author, title, publisher, and date of publication.
Creative work
Any idea or artistic creation that is recorded in some form, whether it’s hard copy or digital.
Trademark
1. – A symbol, word, or words that are legally registered to represent a company or product.
Permission
The right or ability to do something that is given by someone who has the power to decide if it will be allowed or permitted.
Patent
A document that gives an inventor the sole legal right to an invention for a period of time.
Parody
1. Creative work that mocks another work to create a comedic effect. HUMOUROUS IMITATION.
