Dyspepsia
Indigestion.
Esophagitis
Inflammation of mucous membrane on esophagus caused by acidic gastric juices (gastroesophagal reflux).
Hiatal hernia
Part of the stomach goes through the diaphragm and into the thoracic cavity.
Peptic ulcers
Erosions of mucous membranes occurring in the stomach or in the duodenum, causing burning gastric pain and possible hemorrhages.
Diverticulosis
Little pockets on the side of the large intestine that can burst, allowing fecal matter to build up and cause bacterial infection (diverticulitis).
Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD)
Examples include ulcerative colitis (ulceration of colon, rectum, sometimes entire large intestine) and Crohn's disease (ulcers penetrating both intestines, inflammation thickens intestinal walls).
Celiac disease
Malabsorption of basically all nutrients, caused by some immune reaction.
Cirrhosis
Generic term for liver disease characterized by cell loss.
Hepatitis
Inflammation of the liver.
Cholecystitis
Inflammation of the gallbladder.
Cholelithiasis
Gallstones.
