Morality
The quality of human acts by which we call them right or wrong, good or evil.
Double Effect
A principle stating that every choice made will produce two results: one that is POSITIVE, and one that is NEGATIVE.
Choice of Lesser Evil
A principle where, when faced with selecting from two unpleasant situations, the one which is the least harmful should be chosen.
Formal Cooperation
Refers to an individual's deliberate and voluntary participation in the wrongful actions of another, aligning with their intention to carry out the immoral act.
Material Cooperation
Refers to an individual's involvement in the wrongful actions of another without sharing their intention or moral approval of the act.
Being a fully human
A way of describing good moral character that involves realizing substantially your fullest potential, embracing a holistic integration of physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual dimensions.
Being a Loving Person
A way of describing good moral character that involves manifesting care and unselfishness, embodying qualities of kindness, compassion, and empathy.
Being a Virtuous Person
A way of describing good moral character based on being consistent on doing Good Habits.
Being Morally Matured
A way of describing good moral character defined by reaching the SPIRITUAL, EMOTIONAL, INTELLECTUAL & MORAL level of development.
Right Conscience
A conscience that judges what is really good as good and evil what is really evil.
Erroneous Conscience
A conscience that judges what is bad as good and vice versa.
Pharisaical Conscience
A conscience where a person is a “hypocrite”- saying good things but doing the opposite.
Certain Conscience
A conscience characterized by SUBJECTIVE ASSURANCE of the lawfulness or unlawfulness of certain actions to be done or to be admitted.
Doubtful Conscience
A conscience that SUSPENDS JUDGMENT on the lawfulness of an action and therefore suggests the action should be omitted if possible.
Scrupulous Conscience
A conscience where one is constantly afraid of committing evil, often as a result of a stubborn character.
Lax Conscience
A conscience that tends to follow the easy way and to find excuses for mistakes.
Guilty Conscience
A disturbed conscience trying to restore good relations with God by means of sorrow and repentance.
Callous Conscience
A conscience defined as being insensitive and heartless.
