Define Scientific Name
The scientific name is a binomial, meaning that it has two parts:
Genus - the first part of the name signifies the genus the species belongs to.
Species - the second part of the name uniquely identifies it as its own species.

A system of nomenclature in which each species of animal or plant receives a name of two terms of which the first identifies the genus to which it belongs and the second the species itself.
