What should a hypothesis include?
-Any mentioned variables (IV, DV)
-The specific group being studied
-The predicted outcome of the experiment or analysis
Difference between quantitative data and qualitative data
Quantitative data is numbers and amounts of something, while qualitative data is based on descriptions and characteristics: feelings, colours, texture
Difference between objective and subjective data
Objective data is factual information that can be measured such as weight or the temperature, subjective data is based on someones feelings, experiences, opinions
Ethical Guidelines
Informed Consent: Participants must be fully aware of the research and agree to it voluntarily
Confidentiality: Protecting participants personal information from unauthorized disclosure
Right to Withdraw: Participants can leave the study at any time without penalty
Debriefing: Explaining the purpose and results of the research to participants after the study
Protection from Harm: Ensuring no physical or psychological harm comes to participants
Deception: Avoiding misleading participants, unless absolutely necessary, and ensuring they are debriefed afterward
Competence: Psychologists must work within their areas of expertise and seek supervision when necessary

Justice: Ensuring fairness and equal treatment for all participants
Beneficence: Promoting well-being and minimizing harm to participants
Respect for Autonmy: Protecting participants' autonomy and obtaining informed consent
Integrity: Being honest and transparent in research and professional conduct
Non-maleficence: Avoiding causing harm or injury to participants
Fidelity & Responsibilty: Building trust through honest and professional relationships
Confidentiality: Ensuring participants private information is kept secure and not disclosed without permission
