Bone Marrow Transplantation
A medical procedure that replaces damaged or destroyed bone marrow with healthy bone marrow, often used as a treatment for conditions such as leukemia.
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Red Blood Cells (RBCs)
Cells also known as erythrocytes that carry oxygen throughout the body and are produced in the bone marrow.
Hemoglobin
The protein in red blood cells that binds oxygen, allowing red blood cells to transport it to tissues.
Lifespan of Red Blood Cells
Red blood cells typically live for about 420 days before being replaced.
Malaria
A disease caused by a parasite that can affect red blood cells if the life cycle of the parasite is completed.
Genetic Mutation
Changes in the DNA sequence that can lead to diseases, including disorders affecting red blood cells.
Heme Breakdown
The process of breaking down heme, a component of hemoglobin, which can lead to various metabolic products.
