What are you looking for on the hands in a cardiovascular examination?
splinter haemorrhagesm olser nodes, janeway lesions, xanthomata, cyanosis, tar staining
What are you looking at in the eyes and mouths in cardiovascular exam?
conjuctival pallor, angular stomatisis, dental hygine, and Xanthelasma
What are you looking at in the close inspection of the chest?
scars, pectus excavatum, pectus carinatum, visable pulsations
What are you looking for at the end of the bed in a respiratory exam?
IV’s, abx, fluids, and oxygen, cyanosis, SOB, cough and colour of sputum, wheeze, stridor, cachexia
What are looking for in the hands in a respiratory examination?
colour, tar staining, cyanosis, bruising/thinning of skins, tremor, dupuytren’s contracture, hepatic flap
What should the respiratory rate be?
12-20 bpm
What are looking for in the face in a respiratory exam?
blue/grey tinge, under tounge - cyanosis, oral candidiasis, conjunctival palor
