major depressive disorder - severe but short term
persistent depressive disorder - long term
disruptive mood regulation disorder - outbursts of temper in childhood
premenstrual dysphoric disorder - disruption to mood prior/during mentsruation

can work inversely - psychomotor agitation - individuals can’t relax and tend to pace
