What is the definition of a population?
The complete set of all items or individuals of interest
What is the definition of census?
A survey or investigation that observes or measure every single member of a population
What is the definition of a sample?
A selection of observations taken from a subset of the population used to find out information about the whole population
What is the definition of sampling unit?
An individual unit or element of a population that can be sampled
What is the definition of sampling frame?
A list, or databse, of all the individual sampling units within a population

Data associated with numerical observations
What is the definition of qualitative data?
Data associated with non-numerical observations
What is the definition of continuous data?
Data that can take any numerical value within a given range
What is the definition of discrete data?
Data that can only take specific values within a given range
