Linear,Interactive,Transactional
Linear communication model
sender, noise,receiver -one way communication, no response expected
Interactive model
feedback, fields of experiences, messages communicated through channels, take turns being the sender and the receiver. You send a message, wait for a response, process it, and send a reply
transactional model
Fundamentally multidirectional, collaboratively create meanings-communication as a shared, continuous process where participants are simultaneously senders and receivers
What is interpersonal communication?
a dynamic form of communication between two or more people where messages are exchanged significantly influence their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships
