it was the 1st European war since Waterloo- organisation still similar

40% horses died= main transport use during the war- dead horses eaten for food

Camp kettles weren’t replaced and often left behind
Supplies incredible slow for front lines
More problems within the army
Materials at Balaklava and Scutiari often didn’t get distributed

Changes that this reform did
Wanted to change rum ration with porter- seen as healthier and restorative
Supply lines made more complex
Successes of these reforms
Professional reform of Commissariat= in charge of supply
army took control of ancillary services= support segment
public knew the poor conditions of the army= more pity and support
overall shift of control within the army
