Fibroadenoma (Intracanalicular Type)
A capsulated benign tumor of the breast formed of proliferated ducts with compressed, slit-like lumens, lined by 2 layers of cells (outer flattened and inner cubical), and excess fibrous tissue giving a false impression that the epithelium surrounds the fibrous tissue.
Fibroadenoma (Pericanalicular Type)
A capsulated benign tumor of the breast formed of proliferated ducts that are rounded or oval in cut section with patent lumens, lined by 2 layers of cells, and surrounded by delicate fibrous tissue containing blood vessels and few lymphocytes.
Infarction, Spleen
A condition characterized by a structureless pink area of coagulative necrosis where red and white pulp structures appear as ghosts, with a zone of congestion between the necrotic area and normal splenic tissue.
Metastatic Carcinoma, Lymph Node
An enlarged lymph node showing partial replacement of nodal tissue by solid masses of malignant cells that vary in size and shape, having hyperchromatic nuclei and frequent mitosis.
Infiltrating Duct Carcinoma, Breast
A malignant tumor formed of infiltrating sheets of rounded or polygonal epithelial cells separated by dense fibrous stroma, featuring large, pleomorphic, hyperchromatic nuclei, prominent nucleoli, and tumor emboli in the lymphatics.
Cellular Anaplasia
A state in malignant cells characterized by pleomorphic, hyperchromatic nuclei and the presence of mitotic figures.
Caseating Tuberculosis, Lymph Node
A condition where the lymph node structure is partially effaced and replaced by homogenous pink caseous material entangling blue nuclear fragments and surrounded by multiple tubercles.
Tubercle
The microscopic unit of T.B. formed of large pink epithelioid cells, Langhan's giant cells, and lymphocytes.
Langhan's giant cells
Specific cells found in T.B. tubercles characterized by a peripheral horseshoe arrangement of the nuclei.
