Where is the penetration site for ASA?
Height of the mucobuccal fold-between canine and lateral incisor. Slightly mesial to the canine eminence.
Where is the penetration site for MSA?
Height of the mucobuccal fold- above the second premolar apex or between the first and second premolars
Where is the penetration site for PSA?
Height of the mucobuccal fold- distal of the second molar
Where is the penetration site for GP?
Palatal soft tissue slightly anterior to the GP foramen
Where is the penetration site for NP?
Palatal mucosal lateral to the widest anteroposterior dimension of the incisive papilla (middle of the teardrop)
Where is the penetration site for IAL?
Slightly lateral to the pterygomandibular raphe at a height 2-3mm superior the coronoid notch
Where is the penetration site for LB?
External oblique ridge distal to the most posterior molar
Where is the penetration site for mental/incisive?
Height of mucobuccal fold, superior to the mental foramen (between the two premolars)
What is the depth of insertion for ASA?
3-6mm
What is the depth of insertion for MSA?
5-8mm
What is the depth of insertion for PSA?
10-16mm (average is 14-16mm) (Approximately ½ of the short needle)
What is the depth of insertion for GP?
4-6mm (Can be up to 10mm)
What is the depth of insertion for IAL?
20-25mm (Approximately 2/3 to ¾ of the long needle)
What is the depth of insertion for LB?
2-4mm
What is the depth of insertion for Mental/Incisive?
4-6mm
