Ulil Albab
People who have a straight mind and clean conscience, who fill their time thinking about the creation and events of the universe, concluding that nothing is in vain.
Akad
According to language, it means a strong agreement or bond; it serves as a sign of being a believer when fulfilled.
Syukur
According to language, it means to open or reveal, representing contentment and recognition of the mercy of Allah with a set heart, tongue, and body.
Ghibah
Talking about an absent person regarding something they would dislike, where the details provided match the actual condition of the person.
Buhtan
A big lie or slander; it occurs when one speaks of bad things regarding another person that are not actually present in them.
Aib
A flaw, defect, disgrace, or stain that is secret and usually hidden from the public to avoid shame.
Khamr
Any food or drink that can intoxicate, damage the mind, and eliminate a person's consciousness.
Rijs
Very bad, disgusting, dirty, or even impure behavior according to the Al-Qur’an, often associated with intoxicants and gambling.
Juvenile Delinquency
Actions by a minor who intentionally violates the law, such as school brawls (perkelahian antarpelajar).
Khutbah
Giving advice to the Muslim community with specific requirements and pillars, often being a prerequisite for the validity of certain prayers.
Tablig
To convey or inform a message or lecture based on Islamic teachings to one or many people without the specific formal pillars required by a khutbah.
Sayyidul Hijaz
A title given to the Indonesian scholar Syekh Nawawi al-Bantani, meaning the 'Grand Master of the Hijaz (Arabian Peninsula)'.
Tasamuh
The Arabic term for tolerance, derived from 'samaha', meaning gentle, easy, providing broad-mindedness and respect for others' differences.
Mu’ahad
A non-Muslim who has been given a promise of security or a peace treaty by the Muslim community.
Muru’ah
The process of maintaining behavior that aligns with religious teachings, dignity, and self-respect by avoiding bad deeds.
Iffah
A trait that allows a person to avoid fulfilling their lower desires and refrain from forbidden or unbeneficial acts.
Ikhlas
Purity of intention; performing deeds solely for the sake of Allah without expecting external praise or worldly gain.
Al-Haya’
Shame or modesty that drives a person to do good deeds and prevents them from doing evil or displaying defects.
Zuhud
Using worldly possessions as a tool to get closer to Allah while keeping the heart unattached to material luxury.
Al-Wahn
A spiritual disease described by the Prophet Muhammad Saw. as the 'love of the world and fear of death'.
Tabayyun
A process of clarification and verification to ensure the truth of an information or news before sharing it.
Tajassus
The prohibited act of spying on others or searching for their faults and private flaws.
Mahar
A mandatory gift, which can be wealth or anything with benefit, given by the groom to the bride as her exclusive right during marriage.
Iddah
A mandatory waiting period for a woman after a divorce or the death of her husband before she can remarry to ensure certainty regarding pregnancy.
Rujuk
The act of a husband returning to his wife and resuming the marriage bond while she is still in the 'iddah period after a raj’i divorce.
Pan-Islamisme
A movement or ideology aimed at uniting all Muslims worldwide to resist colonialism and strengthen Islamic civilization.
