They compare themselves with their peers to gauge their ability and worth.
Identity vs. Role confusion
a search for a sense of self and personal identity. There is an intense expolration of personal values, beliefs and goals.
Intimacy vs. Isolation
forming intimate, loving relationship with other people.
Generativity vs. Stagnation
building our lives through careers, contribution to society.
Ego Integrity vs. Despair
Contimpates our accomplishments.
The sensorimotor Stage
Physical sensations and learning to coordinate its body. There is an OBJECT PERMANENCE.
Preoperational Stage
They see the world as it is or how it looks only not through logical reasoning. The child is egocentric and often invent imaginary playmate.
Concrete Operational Stage
They began to use logical operations and can perform task like sorting objects.
Formal Operational Stage
They can already deal with abstract ideas.
Physiological needs
the basic needs, fulfilling these needs is the highest priority.
Safety Needs
people seek safety and ensuring physical safety.
Belongingness and Love
individual seeks social connection, love, and acceptance.
Esteem
individual self-esteem(the feeling of being validated)
Self-Actualization
the top of the heirarchy and the personal growth.
Client-centered
method involves removing obstacles by taking responsibility for themselves.
Personality Development
the organized, consistent set of perceptions and beliefs about oneself.
Incongruence
ideal self is not consistent with what’s actually happening or the experiences of the person.
Congruence
the ideal self and the actual experiences are similar.
