Process of posterior pituitary gland hormones

  1. Hormones of the posterior pituitary gland are produced in the hypothalamus

  2. They are passed down axons in vesicles

  3. It is then stored in the axon terminals within the posterior pituitary gland

  4. Hypothalamus then sends a nerve impulse to the posterior pituitary gland to secrete the hormone
