Process of posterior pituitary gland hormones
Hormones of the posterior pituitary gland are produced in the hypothalamus
They are passed down axons in vesicles
It is then stored in the axon terminals within the posterior pituitary gland
Hypothalamus then sends a nerve impulse to the posterior pituitary gland to secrete the hormone
Process of anterior pitutary gland hormones
Hypothalamus produces and releases inhibiting or releasing factors
They are passed down the local capillary network
Passes into the anterior pituitary gland
Stimulate the release of hormones from the anterior pituitary gland
