Condyle
Rounded articular projection
Crest
Narrow ridge of bone; usually prominent
Foramen
Round or oval opening through a bone

Malleolus
The prominent bony bump on either side of your ankle

Trochanter
Very large, blunt irregularly shaped process

Os Coxa
The hip bone, consisting of the ilium, ischium, and pubis

Acetabulum
The deep socket in the os coxa that receives the head of the femur

Obturator foramen
A large opening in the os coxa bone

Iliac crest
The superior margin of the ilium

Symphysis pubis
The cartilaginous joint that connects the two pubic bones

Anterior superior iliac spine/process
A bony projection on the anterior and superior part of the iliac crest

Anterior inferior iliac spine/process
a bony prominence located on the front of the hip bone, just above the hip socket (acetabulum)

Posterior superior place spine/process
a bony prominence at the back of the pelvis, situated at the posterior end of the iliac crest

Posterior inferior iliac spine/process
a bony projection located on the lower, back edge of the ilium

Greater sciatic notch
A large indentation on the posterior aspect of the ilium

Sacroiliac articulating surface
The area where the sacrum and the ilium meet

Sacroiliac joint
connects your spine to your pelvis

Head of femur
The proximal end of the femur that articulates with the acetabulum

Greater trochanter
A large, blunt process on the proximal lateral extension of the femur

Lesser trochanter
A smaller process on the proximal medial surface of the femur

Lateral condyle of femur
The rounded projection on the outer distal end of the thigh bone

Medial condyle of femur
The rounded projection on the inner distal end of the thigh bone

Tibial tuberosity
A prominent bump on the anterior surface of the tibia, just inferior to the condyles

Lateral malleolus
The bony projection at the distal end of the fibula

Fibula
the long, slender bone located on the outer (lateral) side of the lower leg, running parallel to the tibia (shinbone)

Head of fibula
the knobby, palpable bony bump located on the outer (lateral) side of your lower leg, just below the knee joint

Medial malleolus
The bony projection at the distal end of the tibia

Tarsals
The group of bones that form the ankle and proximal foot

Patella
a flat, triangular bone located at the front of the knee joint

Metatarsals
The five long bones of the midfoot

Phalanges
The bones of the toes or fingers

Calcaneus
The heel bone

Talus
The tarsal bone that articulates with the tibia and fibula

Ilium
the uppermost and largest bone of the pelvis.

Ischium
the lower, posterior part of the hip bone

Ischial spine
a sharp, pointed bony projection on the posterior border of the ischium bone of the pelvis

Ischial tuberosity
a bony prominence at the bottom of the pelvis, commonly known as the "sit bones" or "sitz bones"

Pubis
the forward-facing, lower anterior bone of the human pelvis

Coccyx
the small, triangular bone at the very base of the human spine

Sacrum
a large, triangular bone located at the base of the spine and the center of the pelvis

Femur
the longest, heaviest, and strongest bone in the human body

Tibia
the shin bone in human anatomy

Lateral condyle of tibia
the raised, rounded eminence on the outer side of the upper end of the shinbone

Medial condyle of tibia
the rounded, bony prominence located on the inner (medial) side of the upper end of the tibia (shin bone)
