What does DAP stand for?

What is a schedule and explain why a daily schedule is important to children
a schedule is a routine showing what will happen and when it will happen in the day, including arrival departure snacks meals activities
We use it because it provides structure, creates a calm environment, helps limit behaviors with routine, encourages safe practices being enacted at all points through the day
What are the principles of a schedule?
the principles of a schedule are Uninterrupted play periods, minimise doing the same thing over and over all the time, allows choice

stand at the door, back to the door, consider placement of amenities, get onto your knees, all areas should be visible, always assess safety and outdoor spaces
What constitutes equipment; materials; supplies?
equipment=furniture, boards, cots, kitchen equipment
materials=Cars, puzzles, dolls
supplies=Clay, sand, paint, paper, consumables, paper towels, diapers, cleaners
What types of play materials are considered acceptable in early learning centers?
Wooden toys, easily clean and less breakable, neutral toys, open ended materials. Durable plastic toys. Safe and age appropriate
What are a few criteria for play materials?
safety, age appropriate, cost, durability, toxicity, cleanable, quality
Why are open-ended materials a good choice for young children to engage in?
encourage independent thinking, hands on learning, creativity, exploration

coach=observe child's skills and play games and activities, encouraging through play and learning
Prop manager=collect, set up, arrange materials both outdoor and indoor.
broadcaster=providing feedback to children and papers, reading stories, sending newsletters, feedback and reflection.
