What is intensive farming?
Commonly produces fruits, vegetables, dairy products, poultry, and hogs.
Where is intensive farming located?
Is common in densely populated areas such as Southern Ontario, Southern Quebec, and in the Fraser River Valley.
What is extensive farming?
Occurs where the population density is low and land is plentiful and inexpensive. Usually highly mechanized and requires a few workers. Includes cattle farming/ranching, grain and oilseed growing, and mixed farming.
Where is extensive farming located?
Common in prairies, the interior of southern BC, and parts of ON and QC that are located far from major cities
