Doesn't matter who is taking care of them, as long as their distress is taken care of.

Could be stranger anxiety; forming attachment to people they like → respond positively.

Strength gets much stronger → very clear who they are attached to; one-way relationship: about what the caregiver does.

Individual with whom they form attachment to, continue to reciprocate feelings and connections forever; the child starts showing connection; infants that grow up in an orphanage may not have this experience.

They don't trust that they are lovable; parents weren't always there for them → teaches them that they are not lovable; end up with poor internal working model; avoiding intimacy or close contact.
