A systematic process for learning about reality and testing our understanding of it.
Hypothesis
An informed guess or idea which explains a natural phenomenon.
Phenomenon
An observable event.
Prediction
What will occur based on your hypothesis.
Expected results
Outcomes of a test you expect to observe if the hypothesis is correct.
Tentative
A characteristic of science where hypotheses are never proven, but only supported or not supported.
Iterative
A process where experiments are replicated many times to be sure results are not a fluke.
Corroborative
A state where evidence from two separate studies on the same topic point in the same direction.
Evolution
Descent with modification that occurs in populations over time.
Genes
DNA sequences that can be passed down from parents to offspring and are found in a particular location on a chromosome.
Asimina triloba
The scientific name for Pawpaw, which was the subject of Dr. Wyatt's PhD research on phylogeography.

A mechanism used for in-class activities and participation points.
Achieve
The Macmillan platform used for e-text, at-home activities, and quizzes, integrated with D2L.
