What is considered a proper following distance? What is tailgating?
A 4 second following distance. Tailgating is driving too closely behind another vehicle.
What are 3 examples of the highway transportation system?

5. Trying to block another vehicle from changing lanes.

Stop sign vs Yield sign
A yield or give way sign indicates that merging drivers must prepare to stop if necessary to let a driver on another approach proceed.
A stop sign requires each driver to stop completely before proceeding, whether or not other traffic is present.
What is a vehicle safety check? What are you checking and why?
A vehicle check is done to determine if your car is currently in shape to safely get you to where you need to be. Things that should be checked are tires, mirrors and windows, headlights, signal lights, and taillights. Make sure to check for any abnormalities
Wearing headphones? Is it safe/legal? Why or why not?
It is illegal to wear a headset, headphones, or earbuds while operating a motor vehicle or a bicycle. It's also unsafe: if your ears are covered, you'll have a harder time hearing a nearby emergency vehicle, another driver honking to warn you of their presence, or a pedestrian shouting from your blind spot.

A pro of having a passenger in the car while your driving is that you have a second eye to pay attention to the road and a con is that they could be a distraction.
What is the move over law? Why is it important?
The Florida Move over law requires you to Move Over a lane — when you can safely do so — for stopped law enforcement, emergency, sanitation, utility service vehicles and tow trucks or wreckers. If you can't move over — or when on a two-lane road — slow to a speed that is 20 mph less than the posted speed limit.
It was enacted in an effort to curb the number of accidents caused by motorists against law enforcement officers, first responders and other emergency officials who are injured or killed during stops on Florida's highways and roads

Ways to get better gas mileage are to use properly inflated tires, get your oil changed regularly, and don't idle.
What is defensive driving?
It is a set of driving skills that allows you to defend yourself against possible collisions caused by bad drivers, drunk drivers, and poor weather. If you look ahead and keep your eyes moving, you will spot potential hazards more easily.
