Anti-Semitism
Hostility to or prejudice against Jewish people.
Aryan
A mythical, blonde haired, blue eyed race of people that the Nazi’s claimed were superior to other races.
Concentration Camp
A place the Nazi’s sent people they didn’t like
Discrimination
To treat people badly just because of their race or ethnicity
Fascism
A dictatorship in which the nation is prioritized over individuals and their freedoms
Fuhrer
Leader in German. The title Adolf Hitler gave himself.
Genocide
The murder of a group of people based upon ethnicity or other perceived difference with the aim of destroying that group
Gestapo
The Nazi secret police
Ghetto
Sections of cities in which the Nazi’s forced the entire Jewish population of the surrounding area to live
Holocaust
The time in which the Germans killed 11+ million people
Kristallnacht
The night when the Germans rioted and burned down a bunch of Jewish buildings
Lebensraum
“Living space” The Nazi beleif that the German people needed more territory in which to live comfortably
Nazi
Hitler’s political party
Pogrom
Organized acts of violence against Jewish communities
Prejudice
Judging people just by looking at them
Ration
To save or conserve something
Scapegoat
A person blamed for something they are not responsible for
Segregation
To seperate people
SS- Schutzstaffel
Nazi soldiers. The SS caried out the Holocaust
Stereotype
To judge someone based on knowledge of people like them
