Communicable disease
An illness that arises from transmission of an infectious agent from an infected person, animal, or reservoir to a susceptible host.
Mumps
A viral condition also known as infectious parotitis, causing infection of the salivary glands.
Measles
An acute, highly infectious respiratory condition caused by the paramyxovirus.
Rubella
A highly contagious viral infection also known as German Measles, characterized by skin lesions.
Polio
An acute viral disease affecting the spinal cord, causing muscle weakness and paralysis.
Pathogenesis
The development and progression of a disease within a host.
Incubation period
The time between exposure to an infectious agent and the onset of symptoms.
Causative organism
The pathogen responsible for causing a specific disease.
Clinical manifestations
The signs and symptoms that are evident during the course of a disease.
Management
The approach to treating and providing care for a patient with a particular condition.
