Artificial Intelligence
Computer systems that can perform tasks making them seem intelligent and able to ‘think’, solve problems, hold conversations, and complete tasks that previously only human beings could do.
Machine learning
The way in which AI learns by doing math and predicting rather than actually thinking.
Weights
Numbers used in AI calculations that the program changes by itself during training to generate a results closer to the correct answer.
Training (AI)
The process of repeating calculations using statistics and pattern recognition many times (—e.g., 100000 times—) and providing feedback of ‘correct’ or ‘incorrect’.
Convergent technology
A single tool, such as AI, that combines various fields including Natural Language Processing, Computer vision, Sensing, robotics, and coding.
Digital divide
The gap created when learners do not have the same access to tools like AI, which can result in unfair advantages and disadvantages.
Plagiarism
The act of copying work from a source, such as an AI, and presenting it as one's own work without permission or credit.
Academic integrity
Being honest and responsible in schoolwork by doing your own work, giving credit when using other ideas, and focusing on proper learning.
Big Data
Huge amounts of information from many sources (e.g., social media, sensors, websites) that are too complex for traditional table-based databases and require different data structures.
Natural Language Processing
A technology combined in AI tools that allows for the understanding and manipulation of human language.
Computer vision
An AI component focused on image recognition and processing.
