Dental arcade

arrangement of teeth in mouth

Lingual surface

aspect of the tooth facing tongue

Buccal surface or Vestibular surface

aspect of the tooth facing the cheek

Occlusal surface

aspect of the teeth that meet when you chew

Labial surface

tooth surface facing the lips

Contact surface

aspects of the tooth that touch other teeth and are divided into mesial and distal.

Cranial cavity

contains the brain in the skull

Spinal cavity

contains the spinal cord within the spinal column

Thoracic cavity/chest cavity

contains the heart and lungs within the ribs and between the neck and diaphragm

Pelvic cavity

Contains the reproductive and some excretory organs bounded, by the pelvic bones

Abdominal cavity

contains the major organs of digestion between the diaphragm and pelvic cavity

Abdomen

portion of the body between the thorax and pelvis containing the abdominal cavity

Thorax

is the chest region located between the neck and the diaphragm

Gorin

is the caudal region of the abdomen adjacent to the thigh also known as the inguinal area

Peritoneum

the membrane lining the walls of the abdominal and pelvic cavities also covers some organs in the area.

Parietal Peritoneum

is the outer layer of the peritoneum that lines the abdominal and pelvic cavities

Peritoneum

inner layer of the peritoneum that surrounds the abdominal organs

Peritonities

inflammation of the peritoneum

Mesentery

is the layer of the peritoneum that suspends parts of the intestine in the abdominal cavity

Retroperitoneal

means superficial to the peritoneum
