Safety Precaution
Always stand to the side until the grinding wheel reaches full speed.
Tool Rest Requirement
Set a maximum distance of 1/16" from the grinding wheel face and make no adjustments while the wheel is turning.
Eye Protection
Always wear eye protection when using a grinder.
Feeding Method
Feed the work piece into the wheel slowly; never shove it.
Non-Ferrous Grinding
Do not grind non-ferrous materials on a pedestal grinder.
Glove Policy
Do not wear gloves when operating a grinder.
Respirator Usage
Wear a respirator when working in dusty conditions.
Excessive Vibration Protocol
If excessive vibration occurs, turn off the machine and move out of the line of the grinding wheel until it stops.
Wheel Face Condition
The face of the grinding wheel must be flat and not glazed or loaded; dress it if necessary.
Side Grinding Policy
Do not grind on the side of the wheel.
Heat Management
Do not touch hot parts and keep them cool by quenching in water.
Guard Requirement
Never use the grinder with guards removed.
Machinery Conduct
Never engage in horseplay around machinery.
