Comb foreign to breed
WL/NH - single or rose comb
RIR/PR - single comb

Lopped comb
Comb >90° drooped; OK in WL/NH females

Split comb
A comb with a definite split at the rear, affecting its appearance.

Side sprig
A pointed growth on the side of a single comb structure.

Deformed beak
A beak that is abnormal enough to interfere with eating or breeding.

Twisted primary feather OR Twisted secondary feather
A feather that is not straight, typically seen in certain wing defects.

Deformed back (UNCOMMON)
A back that is crooked, roached, or otherwise malformed.

Permanent absence of all main tail feathers
Condition where all primary tail feathers are missing.
Web foot
A type of foot structure that shows webbing between the toes.
Foreign shank color
American Birds = yellow
WL = white

Hen feather in males
A condition where a male bird displays feathers typically found in hens.

PR Plymouth Rock

NH New Hampshire

WL White Leghorn

Foreign plumage color
Plumage that is not the standard color for the breed and must be of solid appearance.
Deformed Feet
Must be >90° even when lifted

Split tail
gap in middle of tail primaries

PEWIE; Positive enamel white in earlobe
White earlobe; acceptable in WL

Split wing
permanent gap in primaries and secondaries
