Voice
The way in which the speaker chooses to relate the grammatical subject of the verb to the action of that verb.
Active Voice
Subject preforms the action of the verb. / When the subject is presented as preforming the action.
Passive Voice
Subject receives the action of the verb. / The subject is pictured as being acted upon
Middle Voice
The subject is pictured as acting in its own interest.
