Pulmonary Artery
Arises from the right ventricle, carries deoxygenated blood to the lungs for oxygenation.
Inferior Vena Cava
Large vein that returns deoxygenated blood from the body to the right atrium.
Superior Vena Cava
Large vein that returns deoxygenated blood from the upper body to the right atrium.
Pulmonary Veins
Multiple small veins that carry oxygenated blood from the lungs to the left atrium.
Aorta
The largest artery in the body that carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body.
Right Atrium
Upper chamber of the heart that receives deoxygenated blood from the body.
Left Atrium
Upper chamber of the heart that receives oxygenated blood from the lungs.
Right Ventricle
Lower chamber of the heart that pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs.
Left Ventricle
Lower chamber of the heart that pumps oxygenated blood to the body.
Tricuspid Valve
Valve between the right atrium and right ventricle that prevents backflow of blood.
Bicuspid (Mitral) Valve
Valve between the left atrium and left ventricle that prevents backflow of blood.
Aortic Valve
Semilunar valve between the left ventricle and aorta that prevents backflow into the left ventricle.
Pulmonary Valve
Semilunar valve between the right ventricle and pulmonary artery that prevents backflow into the right ventricle.
Bronchial Tubes
Branching airways inside the lungs that carry air from the trachea to alveoli.
