DNA Replication
The process where DNA unwinds and each strand serves as a template for a new complementary strand.
Nucleus
The organelle in eukaryotic cells where DNA replication takes place.
Turmoil
A state of great disturbance, confusion, or uncertainty.
Nimbostratus Clouds
Thick, dark gray clouds associated with continuous, prolonged precipitation.
Series Circuit
A circuit where resistances add up, resulting in total resistance greater than any single resistor.
Parallel Circuit
A circuit where the total resistance is less than the smallest individual resistor.
Amperes (A)
The unit of measure for electric current.
Mitochondria
The organelle that contains its own DNA and is involved in energy production.
Golgi Apparatus
The organelle that modifies, packages, and ships proteins to their destinations.
Ohm's Law
The relationship between voltage (V), current (I), and resistance (R), expressed as V = IR.
Kingdom Plantae
The biological kingdom that includes all photosynthetic organisms, such as mosses.
Chloroplast
The organelle in plant cells where photosynthesis occurs.
Stationary Front
A weather front that occurs when neither cold nor warm air masses can displace each other.
Cumulonimbus Clouds
Tall, towering clouds associated with thunderstorms and intense rainfall.
Discord
Conflict or disagreement, similar in feeling to turmoil among a group.
Composed
Calm and self-controlled, the opposite of turmoil.
V = IR
The formula relating voltage, current, and resistance in a circuit.
Ohms (Ω)
The unit of measure for electrical resistance.
Power (P)
Measured in Watts, representing the rate of doing work or the rate of energy transfer.
Cells
The basic structural, functional, and biological units of all living organisms.
Eukaryotic Cells
Cells that contain a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles.
Bryophytes
Non-vascular plants like mosses that reproduce by spores and perform photosynthesis.
