Physical
Physical effects like abnormalities of co-ordination and speech patterns - e.g. cocaine & heroine
Different drugs - different effects e.g. dramatic weight loss, experiencing sleep patterns
Drugs can cause accidents, premature death and unsafe practise e.g. sharing needles feeding to HIV
Lack of concern about appearance, may ignore their hygiene needs
Social
Experience difficulties in family, may experience loneliness and isolation
Financial problems because expense of buying drugs may have no money for any other social activities
May resort to crime to feed drug habit, may lead to jail sentence, removing the individual from society
May lead to anti-social behaviour/fights and result in losing friends.
Psychological
Attention and concentration spans may decrease. may become forgetful = effects to the nervous system
Mental Health problems = depression, anxiety and paranoia
May suffer blackouts or hallucinations - experience difficult emotions e.g. paranoid
May lead to reduced emotional control e.g. dramatic mood servings, anxiety reactions, heightened anger and negative feelings
