What is the Chi-squared test
a statistical method of analysis to identify if the difference between observed and expected frequencies is ‘significant’
What is statistical significance
a determination of if the results are influenced by an outside influence and not up to proability
What is the critical value
a threshold that determines statistical significance
what are the degrees of freedom
(the # of independant values) minus 1 [n-1]
What do you do if results are expected or unexpected
If our results are expected, (insignificant, Ho is accepted)
if our results are unexpected, (significant, Ho is rejected)
