Agriculture
The science and practice of farming, including growing crops and raising animals for food, fiber, and other products.
Agriscience
A broad field of biology that combines exact, natural, economic, and social sciences used in practicing and understanding agriculture.
Sustainability
Using a natural resource carefully so it is not depleted or permanently damaged, ensuring future generations can also use it.
Biotechnology
Using living organisms or their products to make or modify things (like developing crops that can naturally resist pests).
Natural Resources
Materials and substances found in nature—like minerals, forests, fertile land, and water—that humans use for economic gain.
Horticulture
The art and science of cultivating plants, especially flowers, fruits, and vegetables.
Propagation
The scientific process of creating new plants from a parent plant using seeds, cuttings, or other specialized methods.
Food Science
Studying the physical, biological, and chemical makeup of food and the scientific principles behind processing it safely.
Agribusiness
The commercial or business side of agriculture, including farming machinery, marketing, and selling farm products.
FFA (Future Farmers of America)
A national student organization that prepares members for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture.
Accounting
The pathway in Finance responsible for keeping track of every single dollar a company spends and earns.
Banking
Helping everyday people and businesses safely store their money, open savings accounts, and secure loans.
Insurance
Protecting individuals and businesses from sudden financial losses, property damage, or unexpected accidents.
Investments
Helping clients grow their wealth over time by purchasing stocks, bonds, and other financial assets.
Business Finance
Managing the internal budgets and financial strategies for a corporation.
Managing Risk
Identifying, analyzing, and finding ways to protect people or businesses from unexpected financial loss or accidents.
Elected Official
A person chosen by the public through a voting process to represent them and make laws (e.g., Mayors, Senators, Governors).
Public Administrator
A career professional who manages and runs the daily operations, budgets, and staff of government agencies to ensure public services run smoothly.
Lawyer
A trained professional licensed to prepare, manage, and either prosecute or defend legal actions in court.
Judge
A public official authorized to decide legal questions brought before a court and oversee proceedings fairly.
Policy
A "road map" or officially agreed-upon plan of action used by governments to ensure everyone is treated consistently regarding major public issues like education, taxes, or the environment.
Public Service
Work done explicitly for the benefit of the community or general public, usually funded by the government (e.g., a free public library or community parks).
Leadership
A vital skill in government required to manage massive public budgets, coordinate large groups of people, and navigate community crises.
Justice
The ultimate goal based on moral rightness, ethics, and ensuring fair, balanced outcomes according to the law.
Public Safety
Keeping the community secure from significant danger, injury, or disasters, managed by police, firefighters, EMTs, and building inspectors.
Human Resources (HR)
The "people experts" of a company who handle recruiting, onboarding, workplace culture, and employee benefits.
Administrative Support
The "hub of the office" pathway that coordinates daily schedules, manages digital records, handles communication, and keeps office logistics organized.
Entrepreneurship
The process of designing, launching, and running your own new business by taking a financial risk to build a brand.
