Y9 Biology - Cell division + enzyme sites of production and action

Stage 1

Interphase. Chromosomes replicate and form daughter chromatids. Organelles replicate. Cell grows in size and mass

Stage 2

Mitosis. Chromosomes align to the centre of the cell. They then separate to the edges of the cell. New nuclear membranes grow around the chromosomes.

Stage 3

Cytokinesis. Cell membrane splits which makes cytoplasm split. The result is two new daughter cells

Amylase production and action site

Production sites - salivary glands and pancreas and small intestine. Found in mouth and small intestine.

Protease production and action sites

Production - stomach, pancreas, small intestine. Action - stomach, small intestine.

Lipase production and action sites

Production - small intestine + pancreas. Action - small intestine
