A hazard is anything that may cause harm

A risk is the chance of something happening that will have a negative effect on our health or the environment.

1.Identify the hazards associated with the chemicals, equipment and procedures you are planning. Tab 5
2.Assess the risks connected with each part of the experiment.
Decide what precautionary measures should be in place to eliminate the hazard, or to control the risks you have identified.

•list every piece of equipment and material used in the experiment.
•You also need to specify the amount of each material that you used and the sizes of equipment (eg. 250ml beaker).

•1) Each step of method must be numbered + written on separate line.
•2) Start each step with a verb eg Measure, record…. It needs to be written in the past tense.
•3) Make sure some1 else can copy ur method – include each step + clearly describe what you are doing.
