Melting
A phase change from the solid phase to the liquid phase, where molecules gain energy and move around more.
Burning
Also known as combustion, it is a chemical reaction where materials reach a certain temperature and their molecules react with oxygen.
Combustion
A chemical reaction that occurs when materials burn, involving the breakdown of molecules and the release of heat and light.
Flash Point
The minimum temperature at which a material can vaporize to form an ignitable mixture in air.
Melting Point
The temperature at which a solid becomes a liquid.
S'mores
A sweet treat made from graham crackers, chocolate, and toasted marshmallows.
Energy Transfer
The process by which energy moves from one place to another, such as from a fire to wood or chocolate.
Solid Phase
The state of matter characterized by fixed shape and volume, where molecules are packed tightly.
Liquid Phase
The state of matter where molecules have enough energy to move freely and flow, resulting from melting.
Ash
The residue left after the combustion of wood, comprising the material that doesn't burn.
