Defining Febrile Neutropenia…

  1. Fevers: 

    1. Any single oral temp of 101ºF

    2. Temp > 100ºF for more than one hour

  2. Neutropenia

    1. Absolute neutrophil count < 500 cells/mm3

    2. Absolute neutrophil count expected to decrease to < 500 in next 48 hours

    3. Profound: ANC < 100 cells/mm3
