Information
Data that has been processed and has meaning or context.
Bit
The smallest unit of data, either a 0 or a 1.
Byte
A group of 8 bits; the basic unit of data storage.
Kilobyte (KB)
1,024 bytes.
Megabyte (MB)
1,024 Kilobytes.
Gigabyte (GB)
1,024 Megabytes.
Terabyte (TB)
1,024 Gigabytes.
Integer
A numeric data type that contains whole numbers, including negative values.
Real
A numeric data type that contains floating-point numbers.
Character
A data type representing a single letter, digit, or symbol.
String
A data type representing a sequence of characters.
ASCII
American Standard Code for Information Interchange; a character encoding standard.
Cache Memory
A small-sized type of volatile computer memory that provides high-speed data access to the CPU.
Network Interface Card (NIC)
An electronic circuit board that enables a computer to connect to a network.
Router
A hardware device that connects multiple networks and forwards data packets between them.
Switch
A device that connects multiple computers on a network and manages the data traffic.
WAN (Wide Area Network)
A network that covers a broad area, often consisting of multiple LANs.
LAN (Local Area Network)
A network that connects computers within a limited geographical area.
Malware
Malicious software designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems.
Phishing
A fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information by disguising as a trustworthy entity.
Non-volatile Memory
Memory that retains data even when not powered, such as ROM.
Volatile Memory
Memory that loses its content when the power is turned off, such as RAM.
Software Piracy
The unauthorized copying or distribution of copyrighted software.
