How is volume in depth cues suggested?
\Shape, shading, and movement.
What are the layers of space occupied by persons or objects referred to as?
Planes
What are the three key planes in an image?
Foreground, Middle Ground, and Background.
What is Aerial Perspective?

What does Size Diminution indicate?
Objects farther away are seen to get proportionally smaller.
In Linear Perspective, how is a strong impression of depth created?
Parallel lines converge at a distant vanishing point.
What is Central Perspective?
When linear perspective extends from the geometrical center of the frame
Think the shining hallway scene type thing
What does Shallow-space Composition suggest?
Comparatively little depth, with the closest and most distant planes only slightly separated.
What do Deep-space Compositions suggest?
Significant distance between planes.
What is Frontality?
The idea that the viewer’s attention can be guided by having characters positioned in three-dimensions relative to the viewer, often facing towards the viewer.
