what is density
density is a measure of how much mass an object has per unit volume
what is the equation to find density
mass/volume
how would you calculate the density of a rock with a mass of 2kg and a volume of 0.5mcubed
2/0.5= 4kg/mcubed
a flask with a volume of 0.2mcubes is full of water. water has the density of 1000kg/mcubed. how much mass of water is in the flask
1000×0.25=250 so 250 is the mass
how do you find the density of an irregular object?
use a weighing scale to find the mass
fill a measuring cylinder partially with water
read the water level
place the object carefully in the water
read the new water level
volume= the difference in water level
