Angina Pectoris

Atherosclerosis
a form of arteriosclerosis characterized by the buildup of fatty substances that harden within the walls of arteries
Claudication
to limp; pain in a limb (especially the calf) while walking that subsides after rest; caused by inadequate blood supply

profuse sweating (perspiration)
Embolus
a clot (e.g., air, fat, or a foreign object) carried in the bloodstream that obstructs the flow of blood when it lodges (embolus = a stopper)
Infarct
to stuff; a localized area of necrosis (condition of tissue death) caused by ischemia resulting from occlusion of a blood vessel
Ischemia
to hold back blood; decreased blood flow to tissue caused by constriction or occlusion of a blood vessel
Occlusion
plugging; an obstruction or a closing off
Palpitation
subjective experience of pounding, skipping, or racing heartbeats
Stenosis
condition of narrowing of a part

Arrythmia

Polycythemia
increased number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin in the blood

Anemia
a condition of reduced numbers of red blood cells, hemoglobin, or packed red cells in the blood, resulting in a diminished ability of red blood cells to transport oxygen to the tissues
Leukemia
chronic or acute malignant (cancerous) disease of the blood-forming organs, characterized by abnormal leukocytes in the blood and bone marrow
Lymphoma
any neoplastic disorder of lymph tissue, usually malignant, as in Hodgkin disease
Metastasis
process of which cancer cells are spread by blood or lymph circulation to a distant organ
Septicemia
systemic disease caused by infection with microorganisms and their toxins in circulating blood
