both in elegaic couplets - common metre in love poetry (often short, pithy statements)

1. odi et amo. quare id faciam, fortasse requiris.

I hate and I love. Why do I do this, perhaps you ask.

2. nescio, sed fieri sentio et excrucior.

I do not know, but I feel it happen and I am tortured.
